A new Alberta-based business is offering people a chance to win a draw that includes a $500 Pro Hockey Life gift card PLUS two centre-ice tickets to see a Calgary Flames home game of their choice during the 2019-20 season (generously donated by Building Automation Systems), with proceeds from the draw going towards SUDEP research via SUDEP Aware.

When Chris Lijdsman and Ty Stamler launched Stickers4Stuff earlier this year, they wanted to make sure their new business would give back to the community.

For each purchase of the company’s 2-by-4-inch sticker embossed with the Stickers4Stuff logo, the buyer’s name is automatically entered into a giveaway prize draw. From time to time, the founders plan to donate the draw proceeds to charitable organizations of particular importance to them.

Chris and Ty decided to support SUDEP Aware for their maiden prize draw on
September 13th to honour the memory of their friend, Evan Bayko, who died from SUDEP in June 2011.

Chris and Ty played hockey with and against Evan, who was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 16. Ty played with Evan in 2003 with the Southern Alberta All Stars, a summer AAA selected elite team. Chris played with Evan in 2008-09 with the midget AAA Calgary Northstars. Each year Chris and Ty participate in Evan’s Memorial Hockey Tournament which raises funds towards SUDEP research.

“We at Stickers4Stuff wanted to help out in our own way any way we could,” Chris and Ty said in a statement on their Facebook page. “And when this opportunity presented itself, we couldn’t look away.”
